Dr Sharyn Livy is a Senior Lecturer of mathematics education in the School of Curriculum, Teaching and Inclusive Education, Faculty of Education, at Monash University.
Sharyn is dedicated in supporting primary school teachers and pre-service teachers to improve their skills and knowledge in mathematics education. She believes that quality mathematics education is crucial for the development of young minds and strives to equip teachers with the necessary tools to achieve this. Associate Professor Janet Scull is an experienced language and literacy educator and, as a key author of the Victorian Early Years Literary Program, has contributed to the design of systemic approaches to literacy teaching and learning. Janet's teaching and research focuses on areas of literacy acquisition, literacy teaching and assessment, effective teaching practices in the early years of schooling and exploring relationships between language, literacy and learning. She is also a Reading Recovery Trainer and continues support the implementation of this early literacy intervention. Janet's PhD was directed to obtaining an account of how children learn to read with comprehension and how researchers can measure, analyse and theorise reading. Janet is currently involved in a number of research projects with a specific focus on language and literacy in the early years.

Denise Chapman is a counternarrative storyteller, poet, critical autoethnographer, and academic who lectures in children’s literature and inclusive children’s media at Monash University. She has served as a literacy specialist for diverse communities in Australia, Fiji, Kenya, Singapore, UAE, and the USA. Denise is keen for teachers to see themselves as critical curators and creatives of media that support student belonging.
