This industry background strongly informs his applied teaching and research approach. Over the years, he has guided numerous Chinese students in gaining admission to top U.S. and European institutions; one of his former students is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge. These two courses have tasked her with supervising and leading around 40 students in completing their Master’s research proposal and their final applied action research project on a wide range of educational topics.   In terms of her educational background, she received her Doctorate from Beijing Normal University in 2021 in Comparative Education/Educational Leadership and Policy.  Her dissertation – “Students’ Perceptions and Experiences of Global Competence at International High Schools in China” received the Excellent International Graduate Award. She also holds a Master’s Degree in International Studies from Newcastle University, a graduate Diploma in History from the University of Edinburgh, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Arizona State University.

I’ve published over 100 SCI papers in the field of materials science, with 4,000+ citations, an h-index of 35, and an i10-index of 65+.
