Holds dual Canadian-Italian citizenship and a PhD in Finance (2009) from Boston College’s Wallace E. Carroll School of Management, with an MSc in Finance (2002, Italy’s CORIPE Piemonte/University of Torino) and a summa cum laude B.A. in Economics (2001, University of Pisa). Since May 2025, serves as Full Professor and RBC Financial Group Professor in Finance at the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management; prior roles include Associate Professor (tenured, 2021) at Telfer and Assistant Professor (2009–2019) at Queen’s University’s Smith School of Business.
Research focuses on empirical asset pricing, institutional investors, mutual funds, responsible investing, and fixed income markets, with publications in Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Management Science, and Energy Economics. Secured SSHRC Insight Grants, a 2023 Telfer Established Research Award, and was a 2022 Panagora Cromwell Prize finalist. Previously worked as an Economist Statistician at the European Central Bank (2003) and holds expertise in financial databases (Bloomberg, CRSP) and programming (RATS, SAS, Stata). Teaches graduate/undergraduate courses in investments, portfolio management, and sustainable finance.
