A Professor and Endowed Chair in Civil and Environmental Engineering, specializing in the mechanics and physics of soft materials, composite homogenization, and numerical methods for PDEs. He holds dual Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and École Polytechnique. His research focuses on predicting macroscopic behavior and failure of heterogeneous materials through mathematical modeling.
