Ataalla is an Associate Professor of Physics and Materials Science, currently serving as Head of the Basic Science Department at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Badr University in Cairo (BUC), Egypt. He holds a PhD and MSc in Materials Science (both under Erasmus Mundus scholarships) and a BSc from Zagazig University. With over 9 years of teaching and academic administration experience, he specializes in physics, materials science, and related fields, teaching courses like Mechanics, Thermal Physics, and Quantum Physics. He has rich administrative experience, including overseeing freshman education, LMS management, and quality accreditation preparation. A prolific researcher, he has published 24+ peer-reviewed journal articles on thermoelectric properties, optical materials, and gas/humidity sensors, with international research experience in Spain, Italy, and Bulgaria.
