A professional born in 1970 holds an honors diploma in Metallurgical Engineering (Physics of Metals) from Ural Technical University – UPI (1992), a master’s degree in Sports Training Technologies (Strength and Conditioning, honors) from Ural Federal University (2015), and professional retraining in sports education (2012) and management (2009, with a Finland-based internship in international sports management). They earned a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences degree (2000) and have held academic titles: Associate Professor (2006) and Professor (2016).
With over 25 years in academia and sports, they have worked at Ural Federal University since 1997—serving as Senior Lecturer, Head of the Cyclical Sports Department (2000–2015), and current Professor of Physical Education, plus leading English-taught sports master’s programs. They are a leading researcher at a sports functional testing lab, author of 200+ scientific articles and 12 textbooks, and specialize in elite athlete assessment and training. As a cross-country skiing coach (1990–1997, 2012–2015) and current ice hockey consultant, they also lead the Sverdlovsk Region Cross-Country Skiing Federation (2021–present) and are a multi-award winner in international/all-Russian skiing/rowing competitions.
