Distinguished Professor and Director of a major structural engineering research center. Holds a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley. Research focuses on innovative, seismic-resistant steel and concrete structures, including self-centering systems and passive damping. Has led over 60 research projects and authored numerous publications. Recipient of multiple prestigious awards from ASCE, ACI, and PCI. Previously served as the founding director of a university research institute.
