A Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin (2020–present) with expertise in transportation planning, GIS, road safety, and statistical/machine learning analysis. Their current research focuses on COVID-19’s impact on U.S. travel behavior, e-scooter ridership duration in Austin, and GIS-based accessibility modeling (e.g., crash location to trauma center access time). They also supervise undergraduates, assist in “Smart City” courses, and co-develop research proposals.
Previously, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Burgos (Spain, 2019–2020), analyzing driver behavior via simulators and Spanish traffic crash data, and as a Civil Engineer at the Pennsylvania DOT (2017–2019), creating utility/traffic control plans and identifying high-risk crash segments.
They hold a PhD in Transportation Engineering (West Virginia University, 2018), MSc in Transportation Engineering (University of Dayton, 2011), and BSc in Civil-Surveying Engineering (Azad University, Iran, 2009). Proficient in ArcGIS, VISSIM, Python, R, and HCS, they have published 10+ peer-reviewed papers and serve on transport conference scientific committees.
