A Canadian professional (registered engineer) holds a PhD in Civil Engineering (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, 2003, thesis on concrete reinforcement corrosion), MSc (Alexandria University, Egypt, 1996) and BSc (Alexandria University, Egypt, 1991) in Civil Engineering. Since October 2018, they have served as a Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Miami College, Henan University (China).
With over 20 years of academic and industrial experience, they previously worked as an Associate Professor at the University of Macau (Malaysia, 2015–2018) and a Research Professor at Hanyang University (South Korea, 2013–2015), and held roles at Canadian institutions (e.g., Seneca College, Ryerson University). Industrially, they were a Senior Structural Engineer at Amec Americas (Canada, 2012–2013) and a Project Engineer at EBA Engineering (Canada, 2003).
Recipient of awards including NTU PhD Scholarship (1997) and JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (2003–2005), they are a member of APEGA, ASCE, and RILEM, and have given invited lectures at international conferences (e.g., MICE2020).
