Karen is an experienced academic and researcher with a PhD in psychology and early years education, MSc in play therapy, MA in professional studies (early years education), PGCE in early years education and a BSc (2.1) in speech therapy. She is highly thoughtful and reflective with well developed communication skills evidenced through the delivery of clear lectures, conference presentations and the publication of peer-reviewed journal articles, books, book chapters and research reports. Karen is a proactive self starter who enjoys working both individually and as part of a team. She is experienced at designing, writing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate degree awards with high student satisfaction. She has successfully conducted various research projects with the outcomes from research being used for policy and practice to benefit children and practitioners. She has been a manager and leader within different types of organisations.
