Dr Chris Beasley is Emerita Professor in Politics and International Relations (POLIR) and was founder and co-Director (2009-2014) of the Fay Gale Centre for Research on Gender at the University of Adelaide in South Australia. Her books include Internet Dating: Intimacy and Social Change (with Mary Holmes, Routledge, 2021), The Cultural Politics of Contemporary Hollywood Film: Power, Culture and Society (with Heather Brook, Manchester University Press, 2018), Heterosexuality in Theory and Practice (with Heather Brook and Mary Holmes, Routledge, 2012), Gender and Sexuality: Critical Theories, Critical Thinkers (Sage, 2005), What is Feminism? (Sage, 1999) and Sexual Economyths (Allen & Unwin, 1994). She has also edited a further book, Engaging with Carol Bacchi (with Angelique Bletsas, Adelaide University Press) and is currently preparing another titled Living Legacies of Social Injustice (with Pam Papadelos).
