I am a full Professor with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario. My research career has evolved from foundational work in Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) communication systems to a strong focus on applied machine learning and deep learning for healthcare informatics. I have developed and published novel algorithms for the classification and prediction of critical medical conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, heart disease, and COVID-19 patient outcomes, with work featured in reputable journals such as BMC Bioinformatics and IEEE Access. My expertise lies in feature selection, data preprocessing, and sensitivity analysis of classifiers, aiming to create robust predictive models from complex biomedical datasets. This research bridges advanced computational techniques with tangible applications in medical diagnostics.
