Khalid is a Pakistani materials scientist specializing in computational materials science for energy storage and conversion. She earned her Ph.D. in Materials Physics and Chemistry from Northwestern Polytechnical University (NWPU), China, in 2023, and is currently a postdoctoral researcher there. Her research focuses on using high-throughput calculations (VASP, WIEN2k) to investigate 2D materials for metal-ion batteries and cathodes for solid oxide fuel cells. She has authored over 20 publications in reputable journals. She also has prior teaching experience in physics at the college level in Pakistan and has conducted English language courses for students at NWPU.
