个人介绍
Kang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, with a courtesy appointment in the Robotics Institute. His research aims to enhance human mobility through robotics, wearables, and artificial intelligence. He designs mechatronic systems and deep learning-based controllers for wearable assistive devices, such as robotic exoskeletons, to aid individuals with motor impairments. His work integrates mechatronic design, control theory, gait biomechanics, and motor learning. Prior to joining CMU, he was a postdoctoral associate at MIT in Brain and Cognitive Sciences. He holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. His long-term goal is to develop transformative wearable robotic systems for improved human-machine interaction.
