He is for an exceptionally experienced educator and researcher with a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. His career spans over 30 years, encompassing significant achievements in both academia and industry. As a researcher, he made foundational contributions, including solving the Doppler effect exactly and developing novel optical signal processing methods during a prestigious National Research Council fellowship. He also successfully secured a DOD SBIR grant for entrepreneurial research. His teaching experience is vast, having served as an Associate Professor of Physics and Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, and later teaching mathematics and physics at the high school level. He holds teaching certifications and has taught everything from algebra to calculus and AP Physics. His early career included work as an Electro-Optics Engineer in the aerospace industry.
