He is for a distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering with over 30 years of experience in academia, government research, and industry. She is a nationally recognized leader in engineering education, having served as an ABET Accreditation Commissioner and program evaluator for over two decades. A passionate advocate for diversity, she has been the Principal Investigator on multiple National Science Foundation grants aimed at increasing the participation of women and underrepresented groups in engineering. Her technical expertise is in intelligent systems, including data fusion, pattern recognition, and control using neural networks and fuzzy logic, with applications developed for the U.S. Army and NASA. She has held significant leadership roles in professional societies like IEEE and ASEE and has extensive experience in university governance, including serving as Acting Department Head. She is also a licensed Professional Engineer.
