Holds a B.S. (1981, with honors), M.Eng. (1984), and Ph.D. (1987) in Civil Engineering. Currently a Professor and CEE Excellence Faculty Scholar at a U.S. university, specializing in geotechnical engineering. Research focuses on slope stability, geosynthetics, soil liquefaction, and railroad geotechnics. Has 100+ publications, edited books/proceedings, and won multiple awards (e.g., ASCE’s George H. Norman Medal). Serves on journal editorial boards and leads professional society roles.
