An Associate Professor at Western Washington University (since 2020) leading computational/experimental research in renewable energy storage, thermal energy storage, solar materials, and sustainable cements. Develops and teaches interdisciplinary courses in renewable energy, environmental chemistry, and materials engineering, while mentoring students. Also works as a Technical Consultant (Aegis Insight, since 2019) advising energy companies on modeling and litigation support. Previously served as Senior Energy Regulator (Oregon Public Utilities Commission, 2016-2019) developing renewable energy policies and electricity rates, and Research Scientist (US DOE, 2011-2016) on risk assessment for energy tech (CCUS, hydraulic fracturing) and machine learning for energy processes.
