A distinguished scholar, educator, and clinical exercise physiologist in the fields of kinesiology, cardiovascular metabolic health, and physical activity epidemiology, holding a Ph.D. in Kinesiology (University of Maryland, College Park, 2008) with a focus on diet, exercise, and metabolic syndrome. She also earned an M.S. in Exercise Management (Clinical Exercise Physiology) from the University of Queensland (Australia, 2001) and a B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, 1999), complemented by prestigious fellowships from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC, 2010) and American Heart Association (AHA, 2009). Currently an Associate Professor (tenure-track) in the Kinesiology Department at the University of San Francisco (2020–present), she previously held tenured positions at the University of Massachusetts Boston (2010–2020), where she directed the Exercise and Health Sciences (EHS) Laboratory and led curriculum innovation for undergraduate/graduate courses.
