A finance and management scholar with a PhD in Financial Management currently serves as an Associate Professor (since September 2020) at Zhejiang Gongshang University in China, where he previously held the role of Assistant Professor (2017–2020). He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses including Corporate Finance, Financial Analysis, Corporate Governance, and Business Ethics & Corporate Social Responsibility, blending academic rigor with practical financial insights.
His research focuses on financial statement comparability, corporate investment efficiency, board diversity, and sustainable financial growth, with over 14 published/accepted papers in leading journals (e.g., Business Strategy and the Environment, Emerging Markets Review, Applied Economics), many of which are Q1-ranked. He has also contributed to working papers on topics like digitalization and accounting comparability, and acts as an ad hoc referee for prestigious finance and accounting journals.
Academically, he earned his PhD from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (China) with a China Scholarship Council grant, an MBA and BBA (Hons.) from the University of the Punjab (Pakistan), and holds a banking qualification. Prior to academia, he gained industry experience as a Management Trainee at a bank and an intern at Pakistan’s central bank.
